Ingredient Rationale:

Hypericum
|
Hypericum, also known as St John's Wort
this ancient remedy was used to ward of evil spirits by the
Greeks. Its common name came from the fact that it flowers
around 24th June, when St John the Baptist was beheaded and its
yellow petals turn red when crushed!. Hypericum is often given
to treat nerve injuries due to its effective action on the
central nervous system. Its varied properties include sedative,
anti-inflammatory and antidepressant. |

Calendula
|
The flower and leaves of Calendula
officinalis also known as 'English' or 'Pot' Marigold, are used
in this ointment. It is found in many gardens worldwide.
Calendula has been used for centuries for its anti-inflammatory
and antiseptic qualities. It has been used so much in Russia
that it has the nickname of Russian Penicillin. Products
containing Calendula have been used as standby for health
professionals, such as midwives, for many years. |
