Genesis
Creation and the Patriarchs
By Emil Bock
Fired
by the spiritual investigations of Rudolf Steiner and by his wide
reading of occult and mythological traditions, Emil Bock helps us to
understand the great cosmic pictures of the Creation and early
development of humankind. He builds bridges between the biblical
imagery of Genesis, and our everyday modern scientific understanding
of evolution and history. His interpretations in no way diminish the
majesty of the events; they deepen our appreciation of Genesis as an
outstanding work of art and expression of spiritual vision.
As the
dramatic figures of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob and Joseph pass
before our eyes, we learn how each of their lives was related to
hidden mystery knowledge. A curtain hiding deep riddles of Genesis
is withdrawn with the appearance of the initiate Melchizedek, whose
spiritual influence far exceeds his brief meeting with Abraham.
Melchizedek was the messenger of the sun-mysteries whence spring all
new beginnings.
